Peninsula Streams would not have survived the lean times in the past five years without the $10,000 annual Grant from the District of North Saanich for the last three. The District of Central Saanich has this year come on board with $10,000. The Town of Sidney currently provides $500.

If you value your local environment and support what we do, PLEASE send a letter (or email) addressed to the "Mayor & Council" in your community acknowledging their support of Peninsula Streams Society and saying how it is important to you.

How You Can Help

Make a charitable financial or material donation

In February 2006 we received our ‘charitable status’ from Revenue Canada – this means that we can issue tax receipts for donations to Peninsula Streams!

Join one of our member groups

Peninsula Streams has member organization representing the major watersheds on the Peninsula. Member Groups

Volunteer in one of our programs

Take part in one the many projects underway to enhance Peninsula watersheds and educate our youth about their importance and beauty. Volunteer opportunities

Participate in Thrifty Foods' Smile Card Program

When someone loads money in to their Smile Card, Thriftys donates an additional 5% of the amount to Peninsula Streams. The Smile Card can then be used like cash to make purchases at Thriftys. This fundraiser doesn’t cost our supporters anything - all the money comes from Thrifty’s. In the first month we received a cheque for almost $200. Thank you to Thrifty Foods from everyone who used their Smile Card! For more information, or to join our Smile Card fundraiser, please contact Ian Bruce at 363-6596.

Shop at Brentwood Bay's Tru-Value Foods

We have also been added to the list of charitable organizations supported by Tru-Value Foods in Brentwood. If you shop at Tru-Value, you can request that they donate 1% of your grocery bill to Peninsula Streams.
